Kaxite Expanded PTFE Sheet is made from 100% virgin PTFE through a proprietary biaxial expansion process, producing a uniform fibrillated microstructure with equal tensile strength in all directions. Service temperature is −180°C to +260°C, with a pH range of 0–14 for the strongest chemical resistance in the PTFE gasket family. Standard thicknesses include 1/32", 1/16", 3/32", 1/8", 3/16" and 1/4"; standard sheet size is 60" × 60" in white or blue. Custom thicknesses, sheet sizes and die-cut gaskets are available. Samples are available for evaluation before bulk orders.

Expanded PTFE Sheet (ePTFE Sheet)

Kaxite Expanded PTFE Sheet is manufactured from 100% virgin PTFE that is expanded through a proprietary biaxial orientation process. The result is a uniform, highly fibrillated microstructure with equal tensile strength in all directions, laminated to the required thickness. Unlike standard skived or molded PTFE, the expanded structure delivers a soft, conformable sealing surface that seals at low bolt load and recovers well under thermal cycling.

The sheet resists virtually all industrial chemicals across a pH range of 0–14 and does not contaminate the process media it contacts. It is widely used to cut flange gaskets, manway and handhole gaskets, and custom die-cut sealing components in chemical, petrochemical, food & beverage, pharmaceutical and power generation plants. Custom sizes, thicknesses and die-cut gaskets can be produced to drawing.

What is Expanded PTFE Sheet and how is it different from standard PTFE sheet?

Expanded PTFE Sheet is made from 100% virgin PTFE that is stretched in two directions (biaxial orientation), creating a fibrillated microstructure. Standard molded or skived PTFE sheets are denser and harder. Expanded PTFE is softer, seals at lower bolt load, and conforms better to imperfect flange surfaces while still offering the full chemical resistance of PTFE.

What temperature and pH range does Expanded PTFE Sheet cover?

The service temperature range is −180 °C to +260 °C. The material is resistant to chemicals across a pH range of 0–14, covering strong acids and strong bases. For specific media (for example strong oxidisers, molten alkali metals or fluorine at high temperature), please send us the operating conditions and we will confirm suitability.

What thicknesses and sheet sizes are available?

Standard thicknesses are 1/32", 1/16", 3/32", 1/8", 3/16" and 1/4". The standard sheet size is 60" × 60", available in white or blue. Other thicknesses and sheet sizes can be produced on request.
